Multimedia Software.

Definition :

This is a media that allows one to use a mixture of sounds,pictures,films and writing. Multimedia is the integration of multiple forms of media. This includes text, graphics, audio, and video, " Educational software that involves animations, sound, and text is called "multimedia software."

Type of Multimedia

Text Multimedia :Text Multimedia is widely used to present infomatiom on screen and conveying ideas.One  should not necessarily replace any textual elements with pictures or sound, but consider how to present text in an acceptable way and then present to the media.

2. Still Image:


A still image is a single static image.This is known to be in photography, visual media and the computer industry to emphasize that one is not talking about movies, or in very precise or pedantic technical writing such as a standard.


 3.Animation:

This is a rapid display of a sequence of images or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement.
 A common method of presenting animation is as a motion picture or video program.


 4.Interactivity:

 Information Science, Communication, and Industrial Design, have their own meanings for interactivity. In the "contingency view" of interactivity, there are three levels:


a)Noninteractive-when a message is not related to previous messages;


b)Reactive -when a message is related only to one immediately previous message and


c)Interactive - when a message is related to a number of previous messages and to the relationship between them.




5.Footage:

A footage is video that are raw and not edited and are how it were originally shot by a camera or recorded by a camera which are edited to creatwe a motion picture,video clip,or even a television show.

Categories of Multimedia Software :

Multimedia can be placed into two categories 

1. Linear  - This progresses without any navigation control of the viewer such as a cinema presetation.

2.Non -Linear: An example of this linear is Hyper-media.This usually offers uses to Interactivities to control progress.

Characteristic of Multimedia

There are two major charateristic of Multi media

1.Multi Media Presentation :

This can be viewed in person or on stage or played with a local media player.

2. MultiMedia and Simmulation:

May be used in a physical Environment with special effects and with multiple users in an online.
